About the New York HSI STEM Hub
The Center for Broadening Participation in STEM at Arizona State University, and Westchester Community College (SUNY), with funding support from the National Science Foundation, is committed to expanding access to STEM education and opportunities for all students.
CBP-STEM, in partnership with Westchester Community College, has launched the New York (NY) HSI STEM Hub — a dedicated resource center designed to support faculty through student-centered instruction and grantsmanship professional development series. The NY HSI STEM Hub provides faculty with practical tools and training to enhance teaching practices, secure funding for STEM initiatives and promote collaboration across institutions to strengthen student success.

Mission and goals
Our mission is to build institutional capacity by promoting the adoption of student-centered instruction that increases students’ success and achievement in STEM, and by promoting grant-seeking strategies and opportunities leading to improved STEM outcomes for all students at HSIs and emerging HSIs.
The NY HSI STEM Hub will enable SUNY and CUNY community colleges to meet the needs of STEM students through:
- Professional development for staff and faculty
- Instruction, mentoring and technical support for grant seeking, implementation and management
- An alliance of two-year colleges and collaborators to promote systemic change in undergraduate STEM education, share what does and does not work, and capture and share best practices for sustaining and scaling reforms
